Beschreibung von automatisch extrahierten Metadaten in der Medienproduktion

Durch die Verwendung automatischer Werkzeuge zur Metadatengewinnung kann die Effizienz von Prozessen in der Medienproduktion und -archivierung gesteigert werden. Um diese Werkzeuge in bestehende Prozesse zu integrieren, wird ein Austauschformat für die detaillierten Ergebnisse benötigt. Die EBU-Arbeitsgruppe MIM/SCAIE hat dafür das MPEG-7 AudioVisual Description Profile (AVDP) entwickelt, eine Teilmenge des MPEG-7-Standards, die auf Anwendungen in der Medienproduktion und -archivierung zugeschnitten ist. Das Profil soll eine austauschbare Repräsentation der automatisch generierten Metadaten ermöglichen. Im Beitrag wird das Profil beschrieben und einige Werkzeuge sowie Beispielanwendungen werden vorgestellt.

The use of automatic metadata extraction tools can improve the efficiency of media production and archiving processes. In order to integrate a variety of such tools in existing processes, a metadata representation for the often quite detailed results of these tools is needed. The EBU MIM/SCAIE working group has developed the MPEG-7 AudioVisual Description Profile (AVDP) for this purpose, a subset of the MPEG-7 standard tailored to applications in media production and archiving. The profile aims at providing an interoperable representation of automatically generated metadata. This contribution describes the profile and presents some tools and example applications.
