Malcher joins Piksel from British commercial television network Channel 5 where he was Head of Technology and Operations overseeing the technology strategy and implementation for their digital businesses.
In his new role, Malcher will lead Piksel’s EMEA commercial team and shall focus on growing the company’s business in the region within the broadcast, telecommunications and cable markets.
Malcher’s career at Channel 5 began as he joined the network as Head of Product Development and Technology, before becoming Head of Technology and Operations where he was responsible for technical strategy and delivery across the company’s digital activities with a particular focus on online and OTT distribution of programming. Prior to that, Malcher held technology and product leadership roles at ITV and also worked at the BBC and Harper Collins.
Malcher holds a Bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering from the University of Warwick, and a Master of Science degree in music technology from the University of York.
