Cantemo’s Media Asset Management system, Portal, is to be integrated as part of an infrastructure modernisation project for the German media company ProSiebenSat.1 Media SE.
The three-phase initiative will see Cantemo Portal become ProSiebenSat.1’s primary media management platform, replacing legacy systems used for digital media management and distribution workflows. Also closely involved in the project is media backbone platform developer, Vidispine, video technology development and consultancy, Codemill, and Dimensional, developers of strategic concepts for complex projects and applications.
Phase one of the project will involve Cantemo Portal’s provision of content and order services as a Unified Content Platform. Portal will track the progress of licensed content, ensuring upon ingestion that metadata tags are adhered to throughout the life of the content. Content thus is automatically sent to the appropriate destination.
“We’re immensely proud to have been selected to assist such a major company as it undertakes to streamline its digital media workflows,” commented Parham Azimi, CEO, Cantemo. “With Portal’s next generation capabilities, ProSiebenSat.1 can rest assured knowing its content is being automatically managed and correctly distributed.”
“We’re thrilled to be working with Cantemo and are very pleased with Portal’s sophisticated metadata ingestion and processing abilities. As a futureproof addition to our digital media management workflows, Portal offers us a new level of flexibility, enabling us to further modernise the way we manage and edit our content”, added Dr. Martin Emele, Managing Director, ProSiebenSat.1 Produktion GmbH. “Thanks to increased transparency over the lifecycle of content, Portal will ultimately enable us to work more efficiently within the content creation process”.
Portal will also replace ProSiebenSat.1’s existing acquisition workflows as part of phase two of the project, expected to take place later this year. Portal will then handle ingestion, quality control, media management, and distribution to playout management, specifically for linear TV as well as OTT platforms. Phase three will conclude the project which is expected to reach completion in the second half of 2018.
Cantemo was established to lead the revolution for next generation Media Asset Management. Its founders, with years of experience behind them, could see a trend emerging for the creation and use of video extending beyond traditional broadcast. This meant that the existing MAM systems would no longer meet the demands of a rapidly evolving market.
