Sharp/NEC has also validated the new NEC MediaPlayer with Matrox Maevex 6100 Series multi-channel encoders, enabling digital signage installers and integrators with a high-quality AV, end-to-end streaming platform over LAN, WAN, and internet.

The NEC MediaPlayer includes powerful decoding out of the box, integrating seamlessly with Matrox Maevex 6100 Series encoder appliances and cards to support multiple streams up to 1080p60. The NEC MediaPlayer and Maevex 6100 Series encoders share common streaming protocol support and make it possible to send information- and ad-based digital signage content over the LAN, WAN, and even internet.

The NEC MediaPlayer is now available and comes pre-installed on the majority of NEC’s large-format displays and is compatible with any new or existing NEC display that supports Raspberry Pi Compute Module integration.
