The XVS-G1, launched in spring 2021, follows in the footsteps of Sony’s XVS switcher line up. Designed for live production needs, such as sports, news, events as well as entertainment programs, the XVS-G1 system is suited for the small to mid-size studio, outside broadcast vehicles, and fly-away production units.

Enabling this UHD capability  is one of the switcher’s distinguishing features.  Its hybrid structure pulls together a central processing unit (CPU), a graphics processing unit (GPU), and a field-programmable gate array (FPGA). This combination delivers both highest performance and reliability, with no compromise on visual processing enhancements, nor any latency while maintaining a high capacity in both HD and UHD formats.

Its specifications and versatility fit the requirements for AMP Visual TV as it sought to upgrade its equipment after the pandemic, in the light of a growing need for compact, streamlined production kits, to cater for the production of new or more traditional forms of live content.
